The co-host of Wheel of Fortune is negotiating to renew her contract and stay on the long-standing game show following Pat Sajak’s retirement.
Vanna White is in Salary Negotiations
The veteran Wheel of Fortune cohost, Vanna White, 66, is currently negotiating to stay on the long-running game show after Pat Sajak’s impending retirement, according to PEOPLE.
According to sources, no deal has been reached, and everything is still up in the air.
White, like Sajak, has been a part of Wheel for more than four decades, and her future with the show has been unclear in the wake of Sajak’s announcement earlier this month that he’s calling it quits at the end of the show’s upcoming 41st season.
No Pay Raise For 18 Years
Vanna White’s been co-hosting Wheel of Fortune since 1982, but a new report claims she has not received a raise in nearly two decades.
That stunning revelation, via Puck, has come to light after Pat Sajak, 76, announced earlier this month that he’s retiring at the end of season 41, which premieres in September.
According to Puck, White has since hired an “aggressive new lawyer” to get her raise amid ongoing negotiations for her to continue to stay beyond when her deal ends at the end of the 2023-24 season.
White currently makes $3 million a year and, citing multiple sources, Sajak makes five times as much. It should be noted that the outlet also reported she’s received some bonuses.
While some have pointed out that Sajak’s the host and White’s a co-host who taps screens to reveal letters on the board, Puck noted that White who does “way more” publicity for the show than Sajak. Sony declined to comment on Puck’s reporting.

It’s not a surprise that White plans to stay on the game show. Back in December, White told PEOPLE she wasn’t ready to leave Wheel of Fortune behind.
“I don’t even want to think about that. I mean, we’re a team,” she said at the time. “That’s depressing. I don’t even want to think about it.”
It remains unclear if White wants to return in her current capacity or if she’d like to take over for Sajak.
