Dad Arrested for Child Porn After Wife Finds Hidden Camera

A man from California was arrested after his wife found a hidden camera in their family home, and turned him in to police.

Father of Young Children Hid Camera in Bathroom

A man from California has been taken into custody on suspicion of possessing over 900 images of child pornography.

The arrest came after his wife discovered a hidden camera in their residence and reported it to the authorities.

According to the Redding Police Department, Ryan Rovito, 34, was confronted by his wife on March 8 when she discovered a camera hidden in the guest bathroom of their home.

Rovito admitted to being aware of the camera’s presence and promised to dispose of it. However, his wife confiscated the camera and the connected hard drive.

His Wife Turned Him In

Ryan Rovito’s wife contacted the police out of concern that he had used the hidden camera to record their young children using the bathroom.

After obtaining a search warrant for Ryan Rovito’s electronic devices, detectives conducted a preliminary forensic analysis.

.During the analysis, they discovered over 900 images of child pornography and multiple videos that were recorded using the bathroom camera.

Police stated that the bathroom camera captured footage of both children and adults using the facilities without their knowledge or consent.

Rovito is Charged and Held In Jail

Ryan Rovito has been charged with two offenses – possession of child pornography and the unauthorized recording of a person who was undressed and identifiable.

He has been taken into custody and is currently being held at Shasta County Jail.

An arrest warrant was obtained on March 9 and police arrested Rovito during a traffic stop.
