British financier Jacob Rothschild, one of the patriarchs of the Rothschild banking dynasty, has died at the age of 87.

The family, in a statement to the UK’s Press Association news agency, called Jacob Rothschild “a towering presence in many peoples’ lives”.
He was “a superbly accomplished financier, a champion of the arts and culture, a devoted public servant, a passionate supporter of charitable causes in Israel and Jewish culture, a keen environmentalist and much-loved friend, father and grandfather,” the family said.
His career began at the family bank, NM Rothschild & Sons, before starting his own wealth management fund in 1989.
Born in Berkshire in 1936, Lord Rothschild was educated at Eton College and went on to study history at Christ Church, Oxford.
He joined the family bank in 1963 but left in 1980 after falling out with his cousin Sir Evelyn de Rothschild.
He went on to build his own financial empire in the City of London, founding investment trust RIT Capital, which he chaired until 2019.
RIT, formerly known as Rothschild Investment Trust, is one of the most successful of its kind in the UK, with $4.4 billion in net assets as of 2023.
Rothschild was an avid art collector, serving as chair of the board for the National Gallery and the National Heritage Lottery Fund.
He was also a major benefactor of the state of Israel, and through his family’s foundation Yad Hanadiv, he paid for the construction of the nation’s Knesset and Supreme Court buildings. He was awarded the Order of Merit by Queen Elizabeth II in 2002 for his service in the arts and sciences.
Soon after the death announcement, “Satan” began trending online due to users sharing an image of the recently-deceased Rothschild posing with creepy artist Marina Abramovic in front of a huge mural of the Thomas Lawrence painting, “Satan Summoning His Legions.”
It’s been known worldwide that the Rothschilds participated in the elite group surrounding Marina Abramović, who is known for her spirit cooking and satanic-type gatherings. Abramović was recently asked to be an ambassador for Ukraine, specifically to help with schools.

Ms Abramović, a fierce critic of Vladimir Putin’s illegal invasion, said the Ukrainian president had asked for her help in rebuilding schools.
Over the years, Jacob Rothschild has been questioned about many things, for example, attending the Bilderberg meetings.
The Rothschild dynasty began its banking ventures in the 18th century, centered around the German city of Frankfurt.
The Rothschild family members dispersed around Europe, establishing branches in various countries.
N. M. Rothschild & Sons, the privately held family bank, confirmed that the death was a suicide after two French newspapers reported that a chambermaid had found him hanged in his room at the Bristol Hotel in Paris on Monday. But relatives of the 41-year-old Mr. Rothschild refused to give any details of his death, which was originally reported as having resulted from a heart attack.
