VP Harris Attended Howard University’s March Madness Game
On Thursday, Kamala Harris, the Vice President, gained viral attention multiple times for being present at Alma Mater Howard University’s first NCAA tournament appearance in over three decades.
While in a suite, Harris, who is an alumna of Howard University, witnessed the 16-seeded team’s defeat to No. 1 Kansas by a score of 96-68.
Harris Surprisingly Received More Boos Than Cheers
During the game, Harris appeared on the scoreboard and received a frigid reception from the fans.
According to multiple reports, the boos outweighed the cheers from those in attendance.
They roundly booed her presence according to Fox News and multiple other outlets.
Harris Meets the Players
Harris met with the Howard Men’s basketball players postgame.
After the game, Harris went into Howard’s locker room and attempted to cheer the players up.
You guys are so good. You played to the very last second. You made all us Bison so, so proud.
You showed the world who Bison are. You know I was at Howard back in the day when we were just happy there was a game much less getting to this place. Right?
And I literally see Bison all over the world who have been talking about you, this team.
You make us so proud. I know you may not be feeling great right now, okay? But know who you are. You are excellence.
Her message was a tad bit confusing…..watch below.
The appearance of Howard University in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament was only the third time in the program’s history.
This was also the second instance when the team was chosen as a No. 16 seed. The team was previously a No. 12 seed in 1981.
