Man Wearing Walmart Vest Shot Gas Station Clerk and Dog

A man is wanted after he shot a gas station clerk and a dog during a robbery earlier this month, all while wearing a Walmart work vest, police said.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), the armed happened about 11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17 at the Shell gas station at 1923 Poplar Avenue in Midtown.

Police said that an armed man in a blue Walmart work vest demanded money from register.

After receiving the cash, the man shot the clerk in the stomach before taking off, police said.

Police said that a man with a dog outside of the business started chasing the robber, who then fired two shots at the animal, striking it in the leg.

The robber is described to be in his late 20s or early 30s and 5-foot-10.

Police said he was wearing the blue Walmart work vest, a black T-shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and a surgical face mask at the time of the robbery.
