Kamala’s “Two Frogs” Metaphor For Union Workers

Kamala Harris visited with union leaders in Philadelphia earlier this month and spoke with SEIU’s International President.

Kamala Harris’s Interesting Frog Metaphor

Speaking at an SEIU (Service Employees International Union) event and podcast, Kamala Harris drew parallels between frogs in pots of water and the American people’s experience with the current political landscape.

Here’s what VP Harris said after being asked about current situations in America:

“I think of those two frogs. You know the two frogs and the two pots? So, for your listeners, here it goes. There are two pots of water and two frogs. And in one pot you put the frog in the water and you slowly turn up the heat, and that frog is just hanging out as the heat slowly gets hotter, to the point that that water starts to boil and that frog perishes. In the other pot of water, you first turn up the heat real high, the water is boiling, you drop that frog in, he’ll jump right out. The listen there, as far as I’m concerned, don’t be that first frog.”

US Welcomes India’s Prime Minister

Thousands gathered on the White House South Lawn for the formal welcoming ceremony, listening to performances by violinist Vibha Janakiraman and the a cappella group Penn Masala.

As Modi arrived, the crowd, including many sari and shalwar kameez-clad members of the Indian diaspora, broke out in a chant of “Modi! Modi Modi.”

Biden’s administration has charged India’s government with participating in unlawful and arbitrary killings, restricting freedom of speech, and allowing violence against religious, racial, and ethnic minorities.

The White House said Biden would raise human rights issues with Modi when they speak privately. A spokesman stressed it is a topic Biden routinely addresses.

During the arrival of Modi, Biden said, “I’ve long believed that the relationship between the United States and India will be one of the defining relationships of the 21st century.”
