Judy Garland’s Home Is Up For Sale

Judy Garland’s Bel-Air home, the actress most well-known for her role as Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz,” is on the market, and for a hefty price.

Garland, who bought the home in 1938, actually purchased it the same year she signed to star in the iconic film.

And this Bel-Air home could be yours — for a whopping $11.5 million.

The home, built in the 1930s, is located in one of the area’s most prestigious neighborhoods, near the Bel-Air Country Club and the Getty Art Museum.

The two-story home is 5,513-square-foot and includes five en-suite bedrooms with six-and-a-half bathrooms.

With a traditional curved staircase and iron railing from the entry foyer, the home has unique characteristics that retain the Old Hollywood features. The home also has multiple black marble fireplaces, molded walls, and an extra-large chef’s kitchen.

Other interior rooms include a dressing room, dual walk-in closets, and “several conversation areas.”

Moving to the exterior, this classic home has a large brick-lined patio for entertaining guests, an in-ground pool, and a backyard writer’s cottage with built-in cabinets, along with a fireplace.

Garland got into the entertainment industry as a child, performing with her sisters in the group, “The Gumm Sisters.” At 16 years old, she signed with MGM and quickly booked big roles in “The Wizard of OZ,” “Meet Me in St. Louis,” and “Easter Parade.” At age 47, Garland sadly passed away in London from a drug overdose.
