President Joe Biden and his famous son Hunter are both under serious investigations for alleged illegal business activities.
Caught: Joe Biden’s Classified Documents
The president’s lawyers have admitted Obama-era records with classified markings on them were found in his office at the Penn Biden Center in Washington in early November, with more classified documents found in the president’s garage in Delaware in December and further classified documents found in his Delaware home last Thursday.
Attorney General Merrick Garland last week appointed former U.S. Attorney Robert Hur as special counsel to investigate the president’s possible unauthorized removal and improper retention of classified documents and records discovered at the Penn Biden Center in Washington D.C., and in his private residence in Wilmington, Delaware.
Vice presidents must turn over classified material and other key records at the end of presidential administrations.
It is unclear exactly when classified documents were first improperly stored there, but he had begun shutting down his vice-presidential office in January 2017, CNN reported.
Hunter’s Close Proximity to the Classified Documents
Photographs found on Hunter Biden’s old laptop suggest that he could have had access to the garage at President Joe Biden’s home where classified documents were stored, according to The Washington Free Beacon.
In Hunter’s memoir, he recounted that he, his wife Melissa Cohen, his children, and his half-sister Ashley Biden, along with her husband, Howard Krein, were “quarantined” in his father’s Wilmington, Delaware, residence on Nov. 3, 2020, breathlessly awaiting the election results.
There have been at least five known instances of Hunter Biden traveling to Wilmington, Delaware, since his father took office, according to Fox News. The younger Biden is facing an investigation from federal law enforcement for possible tax fraud and allegedly lying on a federal form when purchasing a firearm. Charges against him could be imminent.
The Classified Documents
The White House revealed on Jan. 9 that a set of classified documents reportedly containing top-secret information on Ukraine, Iran, and the United Kingdom had been discovered by the 80-year-old president’s personal lawyers at the Penn Biden Center think tank in Washington.
The White House has denied that visitor logs for the president’s Delaware home exist as the media and House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) seek to obtain more information on who may have access to the classified material in Wilmington.
The Secret Service admitted last week they do have information on visitors to Biden’s residence during the time he kept sensitive records in the home.
