A brave teen boy from Michigan used a slingshot to stop a kidnapping attempt that targeted his 8-year-old sister.
Boy Saves His Sister From Being Kidnapped
According to The Detroit News, the young girl was engaged in a mushroom hunt in her backyard when a 17-year-old boy appeared from nearby woods, snatched the 14-year-old girl, and covered her mouth.
That’s when her 14-year-old brother quickly sprang into action!
As the girl struggled to break free, her brother used his slingshot and shot at the intruder’s head and chest. The impact struck the attacker and gave his sister time to get away.
Local NBC affiliate WPBN said state troopers were able to locate who was found hiding at a gas station nearby.
The 17-year-old suspect appeared in court for arraignment on charges of attempted kidnapping, child enticement, attempted assault with bodily harm, and assault and battery, according to undisclosed sources.
As of now, the name of the suspect remains undisclosed by the state police.
The judge presiding over the case set a bond of $150,000, with the suspect scheduled to appear in court again on Wednesday.
