Alec Baldwin has been indicted on charges of involuntary manslaughter as prosecutors once again seek to hold the actor accountable for the on-set death of Halyna Hutchins.

Alec Baldwin is headed to trial over the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was killed in 2021 after the actor’s prop gun fired a live round of ammunition on the “Rust” film set.

Baldwin, the lead actor and co-producer of the movie, Rust, said he pulled back the hammer, not the trigger, and the gun fired.

Hutchins was preparing to film a scene with Baldwin at a ranch near Santa Fe, N.M., in October 2021 when the gun went off. Baldwin has maintained that he did not pull the trigger.

Special prosecutors brought the case before a grand jury in Santa Fe, New Mexico this week, months after receiving a new analysis of the gun that was used.

“We look forward to our day in court,” said Baldwin’s attorneys, Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, of Quinn Emanuel.

While the proceeding was shrouded in secrecy, two of the witnesses seen at the court included crew members, one of whom was present when the shot was fired, and the other had just walked off the set the day before due to safety concerns.

In April last year, special prosecutors dismissed an involuntary manslaughter charge against Baldwin, saying they were informed that the gun might have been modified before the shooting and malfunctioned.

But the prosecutors later began weighing whether to refile a charge against the actor after receiving new analysis of the gun.

“We are looking forward to the criminal trial which will determine if he should be convicted for the untimely death of Halyna,” Gloria Allred, the lawyer for Hutchins’ family said in a statement Friday. If convicted, Baldwin could face up to 18 months in prison. A trial date has not been set.

The film “Rust” has since been completed with additional filming in Montana and is awaiting distribution.

Meanwhile, he has re-listed his elegant Hamptons home for the fourth time. To help get more eyes on the offering, Baldwin has taken a somewhat unconventional tack and recorded a video in which he walks around the property and talks about his favorite parts of the 10,000 sq. ft. beach house.

Baldwin first listed the house for $29 million in Septemberm however the 18th-century property is now on the market for $24.9 million.
