A Floridian man is now confronting three felony charges following an incident on Saturday morning, during which someone hurled a cup of coffee at him, as reported by deputies.
Road Rage Isn’t A Good Thing
The altercation unfolded at the Palm Coast Parkway Chick-fil-A, where Donovan Matthews, a 36-year-old resident of Palm Coast, engaged in a dispute with a man and a woman, according to the arrest report.
Following the argument, one of the individuals involved tossed a cup of coffee at Matthews and exited the establishment.
Allegedly, Matthews pursued them in his car and intentionally collided with their vehicle at a later point, according to the report.
After the collision, both parties abandoned their vehicles near the intersection of Diandra and Palm Coast Parkway.
Matthews then resumed the confrontation, reportedly attempting to strike the woman in the face, as per deputies.
In an effort to defend the woman, the man stepped in and became the target of Matthews’ assault, resulting in both individuals on the ground, with Matthews repeatedly striking the man, as detailed in the arrest report.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has filed multiple felony charges against Matthews, including aggravated battery and assault.
