The national park was established in 1872, covers 2.2 million acres and features world-renowned Old Faithful, an active geyser, and spans to Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. According to the park’s website, many tribes and bands used the park as their home, hunting grounds, and transportation routes after the European arrival.
Hilton Head
Hilton Head, South Carolina, is ranked one of the most popular island destinations in the United States. In 1663 English Captain William Hilton was exploring Port Royal Sound and sighted the high bluffs of the island, and named it for himself “Hilton Head” (Head refers to the headlands visible as they sailed the unchartered waters.
With lots of family fun yet to be had on the lovely island, it’s the perfect place for a day at the beach, nature tour, animal farm, or museums. You can also enjoy many outdoor activities like dolphin watching, fishing, kayaking, biking, sailing, or lounging poolside.
Hawaii
Hawaii is one of the most popular islands in the US because of its beautiful mountains and iconic beaches. It became the 50th US state in 1959 and is a group of volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean.
