Johnny Depp Returns

The seasoned actor, now 60 years old, graces the screen in a captivating new commercial, marking his debut in promoting the fragrance since the resolution of his highly publicized legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard in 2022.

In this visually striking advertisement, Depp, dressed entirely in black, delivers a poetic narrative, painting a vivid picture with his words.

“An eagle cries as it gracefully circles its prey. The radiant sun hangs high in the boundless azure sky. A trail of crisp, cool wind rustles through a terrain of arid wood and stone,” he eloquently proclaims, concluding with the evocative declaration, “This is the essence of Sauvage Eau.”

Reports indicate that Depp has inked an impressive three-year contract with Dior, rumored to be more than $20 million, setting a record as the most substantial men’s fragrance endorsement deal to date.

Dior celebrated Depp’s return to the spotlight with an Instagram post, captioning a still image of the actor with the words, “Fearless and commanding, true to his essence, true to himself, @JohnnyDepp embodies the spirit of Sauvage.”

Depp’s renewed association with Dior comes over a year after his defamation lawsuit against the 37-year-old Heard.

A seven-member jury, comprising five men and two women, held both Depp and Heard accountable for defamation, though they largely favored the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean star. Depp was awarded $10.35 million in damages, while his Aquaman actress ex-wife received $2 million in compensation.

Recently, Depp embarked on a summer tour with his band, The Hollywood Vampires, featuring himself, Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, and Tommy Henriksen.

He also returned to the silver screen at the Cannes Film Festival in May, starring in the French-language film Jeanne Du Barry as King Louis XV.

Depp is scheduled to helm the upcoming film Modi, an adaptation of the play Modigliani by Dennis McIntyre.
