George Soros, the Democrat party megadonor, has provided financial support to the tune of a quarter of a million dollars to an anti-Israel organization that apparently has ties to Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups.
According to recently disclosed grant records, the billionaire’s Open Society Foundations empire’s major grant maker, the Soros-backed Foundation to Promote Open Society, gave $250,000 in 2022 to Education for Just Peace in the Middle East, a nonprofit group that has allegedly financially supported the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions National Committee (BDS).
This same nonprofit also referred to as the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights, is among the pro-ceasefire protest organizers who have expressed support for Hamas, the group whose onslaught against Israel resulted in the deaths of over 1,200 people, in addition to the abduction of hundreds of innocent hostages.
The Anti-Defamation League says that since October 7th, anti-Semitism in the United States has increased by at least 400%.
Soros’s Foundation to Promote Open Society gave Education for Just Peace in the Middle East—the official name USCPR files under with the IRS—a total of $450,000 in grants between 2018 and 2021, according to their records.
In October, a Hilton hotel notably canceled USCPR’s national conference following a Washington Examiner piece detailing how “Squad” Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) was scheduled to give the keynote address.
The BDS National Committee and USCPR are both sponsored by an anti-Israel network that was made public by Tablet in 2018. The Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs think tank and the U.S. State Department claim that the BDS and USCPR have members that are U.S.-designated terrorist groups, including the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Hamas, and the Palestinian Liberation Front.
USCPR’s website has connections on social media to large pro-Palestine and anti-Israel demonstrations in big cities, including one that happened on Monday in Oakland, California, which aimed to persuade the Oakland City Council to back a ceasefire.
Based on information from the Israeli watchdog group NGO Monitor, the Oakland rally was coordinated by the Arab Resource and Organizing Center, a Tides Center project that has honored Muslim terrorists from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
Furthermore, according to the Washington Examiner, USCPR assisted in planning the pro-Palestinian Nov. 4th National March on Washington, which resulted in anti-Semitic chants, graffiti, and the support of nonprofit organizations with ties to terrorist groups.
NGO Monitor also reported that Jewish Voices for Peace, a pro-Palestinian organization whose advocacy arm co-sponsored a violent protest at the Democratic National Committee in mid-November, is a part of USCPR’s network.
In addition to substantial support from Soros, USCPR is receiving assistance from other prominent liberal grant-makers. For instance, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, a private organization founded in 1940 by the sons of John D. Rockefeller Jr. and Abby Aldrich Rockefeller, has given $580,000 to Education for Just Peace in the Middle East in recent years, according to a Washington Free Beacon article.
