The Cuteness Overload Continues

Puppy players who participate in the annual pre-game event are adoptable shelter dogs who have successfully found new homes through the televised program, which was started and still is hosted by Animal Planet.

The rules are very simple – to score, the pups just need to get the ball to one of the endzones.

Two teams – Team Ruff and Team Fluff will scrap it out for the highly prestigious Lombarky Trophy with defending champions Team Fluff hoping to make it three wins in a row.

This year, the Puppy Bowl celebrates more puppies, more animal shelters and rescues, and more inspiring adoption stories than ever before.

It’s a Tradition

The Puppy Bowl has been a Super Bowl Sunday tradition for nearly 20 years, and this year’s event will take things to a whole new level.

The game, which encourages people to adopt shelter pets, has traditionally aired on Animal Planet. But in 2023, it will also be broadcast on Discovery Channel and TBS.

Since its premiere, the Super Bowl has expanded past pups to other cute critters. There’s a kitten half-time show, as well as a host of hamsters, rabbits, chickens, and even penguins.
