Michael Phelps’ boy brood just got bigger!
The Olympic swimmer’s wife, Nicole Phelps, gave birth to their fourth son on Jan. 16.
“@mrs.nicolephelps and I wanna welcome Nico Michael Phelps to the world. Born on 1/16,” the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post Monday alongside a sweet picture taken by Boone Studios.
“We’re so blessed to be given a 4th child. We’re now a family of 6! 😁😁🤪😂.”
Nicole revealed her pregnancy news by debuting her baby bump in October 2023.
“Happy Anniversary to my best friend, hubby and partner thru life ❤️,” the 38-year-old wrote via Instagram at the time. “I couldn’t have asked for anyone better!
“For those that are wondering… yes! we’re expecting our 4th Phelps in 2024 💙💙💙💙,” she concluded.
While Nicole hinted at the sex of the little one in her social media upload, she didn’t confirm until the following month that another son would join big brothers Boomer, 7, Beckett, 5, and Maverick, 4.
“I would have loved to have a daughter for Michael so he could have that father-daughter bond that I experienced growing up,” she told Today.com in November 2023. “But I strongly believe you’re given what you’re supposed to have, and I’m really excited to have another boy.”
Nicole clapped back at “difficult” comments from people saying she “needs” a daughter, explaining, “I’m like, ‘No, I really don’t.’”
The couple had yet to decide on a name at the time — but their kids were set on Drifter.
“The sweetest thing is how genuinely excited the boys are to meet their brother,” Nicole gushed. “Having four boys will be crazy but wonderful.”
Michael, 38, and Nicole became parents in May 2016 when Boomer arrived, followed by Beckett and Maverick in February 2018 and September 2019, respectively.
The pair have been married since June 2016.
